Message from the Team Admin:

Spring/summer registration will open Thursday March 12th with the season starting Thursday March 26th.

The dates for the Spring/Summer 2026 session runs Thursday March 26th until Thursday July 4th, with Tuesday night sessions starting at the end of April/early May until our season end party on Sunday July 7th. Our *tentative* meet dates are

8:00am May 23 - Woolwich
8:00am June 6 - Kincardine
8:00am June 20 - Fergus (Semi-Finals)
8:00am July 4 - Wilmot (Finals)

Year End Celebration - Sunday July 5th

Attending the meets is not a requirement of participating in the Spring/Summer session. For those interested in participating, you need to attend Fergus OR Kincardine to qualify for semi-finals. If you are commiting to semi-finals you also need to commit to finals, as often it is relay teams that qualify, so if you are unable to attend you are leaving your team a swimmer short. **We will give preference for both Tuesday & Thursday time slots to those who plan to attend the meets, and for our older swimmers.**

Any NEW to Flippers swimmer 10 and under will be required to pass the swim test at the pool BEFORE the start of the season. We will offer a time for you to come to the pool and take the test. Alternatively you can do it at any public swim. IF you are a new swimmer and have already completed the test and had the lifeguards sign off on the card let us know as you would not be required to retake the test.

The maximum number of swimmers per time is 36, so spots are limited. We will have our youngest swimmers, and those who can only swim on Thursdays swimming from 5 - 6, as we only have the pool from 6 - 8 on Tuesdays. IF you know you can only attend Tuesday or Thursday due to another conflict, please let me know so we can potentially keep a spot for another swimmer. Additionally if your child does NOT plan to participate in the swim meets please let me know. The cost would remain the same, as it is the same cost for one night in our Fall/Winter sessions. We spread the cost out evenly over the two sessions so it is the same for all of our families.

Registration will be limited to 36 swimmers per hour.

As you know we are an organization run entirely by volunteers and during the off season we are on a hiatus so emails are not being checked. As we gear back up we will be going through those emails over the next few days. Thank you for your patience as we catch up and respond.

More detailed information will become available prior to registration opening. If you would like to be added to the General mailing list to receive information as it becomes available please reach out to [email protected]

Thanks again for your patience and we look forward to another fun swimming season.

About Us

Fergus Flippers is a volunteer-based, non-profit, recreational swim team training out of the Centre Wellington Sportsplex in Fergus, ON. The team trains weekly during the Fall and Winter session, adding a second training night during the Spring and Summer sessions when they compete in the South Western Ontario Recreational Swimming Association (SWORSA) league. The league competition allows our swimmers to compete against the Kincardine Kippers and the Woolwich Wave, and includes 2 swim meets, Semi-Finals and the Finals meet held at a neutral location.

The goal of our team is to provide every swimmer an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability. The swimming environment is positive and fun, where respect for teammates and coaches is instilled. Swimming with our team will build skills that will last a lifetime.
